In 2023 I started recreating Johannes Vermeer’s single, solitary female figures using freshwater pearls. Called the Pixelated Pearl Vermeers, they measure around 61×78cm each; which isn’t huge, but definitely requires a financial and physical commitment to bring into one’s home. So in 2024 I designed these pieces as their more accessible, and easy-to-decorate with children. I love them. And I hope you will too.
This particular piece is an exceptionally delicate take on my Pixelated Pearl Vermeer series. Measuring 10cm x 10cm, it recreates Vermeer’s iconic Girl With A Pearl Earring using 200+ dyed freshwater pearls. Perfect for filling out your salon wall or highlighting a unique space in your home, its impact far exceeds its dimensions.
Measures 10cm x 10cm x 3cm
Made from wood, paint, golden metallic pins, glue, and dyed freshwater pearls
Ready to hang, framing not required
Made from natural materials which may not hold their color in direct sunlight
Hang out of direct sunlight to prevent fading/damage
Clean using an air blower or a soft synthetic paintbrush, avoid using a vacuum, feather duster, or lamb’s wool duster
